The second catches it in flight from above, spreading both wings across a broad diagonal. That more distant view leaves plenty of space for sea or sky around the bird. You might leave most of the body white, add soft blue to the wing bands, and use a pale yellow for the beak. In the close view, work carefully around the small marks on the face.

In the flying view, follow each wing from its base to its tip so the bands stay in order. A few light waves can give the page a coastal setting without crowding the drawing. Both sheets work well with colored pencils or felt tips.
