Notice the pointed wing edges, oval markings, and striped antennae. They create separate spaces where strong color contrasts can work well. A deep purple body, soft green wing areas, and one brighter shade for the spots would make a recognizable palette, but unusual colors can be just as fun.

Cover the widest sections before returning to the small circles on the face and the narrow antenna bands. For the more symmetrical picture, finish one wing and repeat your choices on the other. In the angled pose, change the pressure of your pencil slightly to suggest motion while preserving the black outlines.
