A classic palette uses purple across the back and head, cream on the belly and muzzle, and pink inside the ears. Darken the lower body and the base of the tail with a second purple to create volume without hiding the outline. Rattata can also be colored like a real field mouse in browns and warm grays, making it easy to compare fantasy and natural palettes. Add floorboards, grass, berries or a moonlit path for context.
