Tentacruel’s colors

Establish the dome first with turquoise, fading toward deep blue at its lower edge. Use scarlet and burgundy on the orbs, reserving sharp white highlights, then fill the dark plates only after nearby blue areas are complete.

Give alternating tentacles slightly different blue-violet shadows so viewers can follow each curve. Tentacruel pages are best for intermediate colorists using sharpened pencils or fine markers.

What if you chose your own colors?

Frame the creature with rising bubbles, distant coral or slanting beams of surface light. Avoid drawing seaweed through the tentacle cluster, since additional crossing lines make the center difficult to read.

Pale aqua behind the dark head and a sandy neutral along the bottom provide useful separation and depth.

Recognizing Tentacruel

Tentacruel is a Water- and Poison-type Pokémon with a large blue dome, two prominent red orbs, black facial plates and a mass of long tentacles. The overlapping limbs make it one of the more detailed underwater coloring subjects.
